Tehya Wright, LPC-ITMental Health TherapistHi! I’m Tehya, and I’m excited to be at WADC. I’ve always been passionate about supporting others through difficult experiences and strive to bring a caring, genuine, and easygoing presence to my work. I value getting to know each client as a unique individual and aim to create a space that feels safe, comfortable, and honest. I can be lighthearted and validating while also bringing in some humor and directness when needed. My own experience in therapy inspired me to become a therapist and continues to shape the empathy and respect I bring to our work together. If you’ve ever felt alone or overlooked, I want to assure you of your worth and provide the support that you deserve.
I hold an Associate’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Carroll University, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2021 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor In Training (LPC-IT) in October 2025. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, ADHD, borderline personality disorder, and mood disorders. I have experience working with children as young as 6, adolescents, young adults, and older adults in residential and outpatient settings. I use techniques from CBT, DBT, Exposure Response Prevention, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to tailor treatment to each individual. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening (with mixed success!), hiking, camping, painting, boating, and reading mystery novels in my hammock when the weather allows. In winter, I’m happiest staying cozy indoors with my two cats and hot chocolate. You can see my painting skills and some successful plants at the office if you come for a visit. I look forward to being part of your journey and assisting with reaching your goals. |
