Hello! I’ve dedicated the past 38 years to helping those dealing with a variety of concerns including OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions like skin picking, hair pulling, and hoarding. I also work with individuals struggling with depressive disorders. I’m a faculty member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF) Behavioral Therapy Training Institute, where I help to train licensed clinicians in the treatment of OCD. I approach mental health concerns from a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) perspective. For anxiety this involves challenging negative thoughts and gradually exposing individuals to the feared triggers of their anxiety. For those dealing with depression, I focus on an intervention called behavioral activation. Before joining WADC, I was a clinical director and supervisor at Roger’s Behavior Health. I oversaw the clinical quality of adolescent and child OCD/anxiety residential programs, partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Additionally, I supervised clinicians in both the adolescent and adult intensive depression programs. I enjoy using humor to ease stressful situations and have a laid-back demeanor. I use a collaborative approach that emphasizes the strengths of both clinician and client. Regardless of your motivation for seeking treatment, homework is an essential part of the process. This can involve monitoring a specific behavior, completing daily exposure and behavioral activation exercises, or other tasks. Completing daily treatment assignments is positively related to treatment outcomes. I look forward to working with you. |
